The bear star Jeremy Allen White gets ready to play The Boss.
The actor who is cast in the role of Bruce Springsteen in the new film Deliver me from nothingnessreveals in the latest issue of GQ that he is working on getting the right voice for the role of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer.
“I’m really lucky that there’s now something of a team that helps young actors portray rock stars,” he says, laughing. “I have a really talented group of people helping me with vocal and musical training to prepare me for this thing.”
He also stresses how lucky he is to have Springsteen supporting the film, saying, “I’ve had a little contact with him and he’s just the greatest guy.”
To prepare for the role, White also watched old footage of Springsteen.
“It’s really great to go on YouTube and delve into all sorts of stages of his life and discover him and listen to him both speak and sing,” he says. “That was the deal, I just listened to him a lot and watched him a lot. The preparations were really fun.”
