“Despicable Me 4” now available at home

Despicable Me 4 can now be viewed at home in the UK, following an earlier digital release in the US.

The film is still in theaters if you want to see it on the big screen, but Universal has now released the film for home viewing if you don’t feel like going to the cinema.

You can buy or rent Despicable Me 4 from Prime Video, iTunes, Microsoft Store and other digital platforms in the UK.

In the US, you can buy or rent the film on Prime Video, iTunes and other providers.

If you would rather own a physical copy of the film, you can pre-order Despicable Me 4 on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK. Universal has not yet confirmed a release date for the physical release.

Despicable Me 4 continues the story of the reformed villain Gru (Steve Carrell), who becomes the target of his vengeful former classmate Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell) and is forced to move with his family to a safe house.

The film set an unwanted record upon its release – it received one of the lowest Rotten Tomatoes ratings of the series at 55% (previously 56%), behind Despicable Me 358%. This also corresponds to the rating of the first Minions Film.

The previous entry in the franchise was 2022 Minions – In search of the mini bossand around the time of release, Carell admitted that he didn’t understand the Minions at first.

“When we made the first film, I thought it turned out great. I was so impressed with what the animators and the writers had done, and they created a world that was so different from anything I had ever seen,” he recalled to Digital Spy.

“It was a little darker, a little edgier, it had something different about it. The kids loved it and they definitely loved the Minions. It was a stroke of genius. When they were first described to me, I couldn’t for the life of me understand what they were talking about.”

Despicable Me 4 is available to buy or rent in the UK from Prime Video, iTunes, the Microsoft Store and elsewhere.
