Travis Scott releases the video “Drugs You Should Try It”

Cinematic image for the Days before the rodeo Favorite features subtle homage to Virgil Abloh

Less than a Week after revisiting his mixtape Days before the rodeo To mark the 10th anniversary, Travis Scott offers a visual pairing for the project’s single, “Drugs You Should Try It.”

The clip begins with an apparent tribute to Virgil Abloh, with a bodybuilding model posing in front of a neon sign with a smoking cowboy that he used on his 2015 rodeo tour. (“He’s with us forever, got it?” he said during a special anniversary concert over the weekend, according to Billboard.)

A warning message then appears in the video with the text: “Please play this song at maximum volume for optimal effect,” along with Days before the rodeo‘s tracklist. The video features cinematic slow-motion clips of Scott jumping around shirtless under the night sky. Other shots show him smoking a joint before rapping the lyrics under red lights and drowning in cold water.

Scott has reissued his second mixtape Days before the rodeo on August 23rd and brings the entire 2014 body of work – including songs like “Don’t Play” with The 1975, “Mamacita” with Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug and “Sloppy Toppy” with Migos and Peewee Longway – to streaming services.

He also released the promised deluxe edition of the record with new songs on his website. The deluxe LP includes the songs “Mo City Flexologist,” “Serenade,” “While Lots Changedm,” and “Yeah Yeah” featuring Young Thug. The mixtape preceded Scott’s career-defining rodeo LP from 2015.
