Kriti Sanon reveals she still has a ‘joint account’ with her father and says: ‘I am truly upper middle class’
Kriti Sanon stands out not only for her acting skills, but also for her candid statements about her personal journey. The actress recently spoke about her ongoing search for inner peace amidst the pressures of seeking recognition and balancing a demanding career with personal fulfillment.
Kriti Sanon seeks validation and talks about her middle-class roots
Kriti, who initially entered the film industry as an outsider, has openly admitted that seeking recognition was a big challenge. She told Nikhil Kamath, “No, I am no longer opposed to what I want to do. I can tell you that.” Kriti explained that she has tried out different roles along the way and sometimes chose projects mainly based on their box office potential rather than her own personal satisfaction. She added, “I tried and I did. And most of the time, it didn’t work out in the end. So I think to myself, it’s not even the result that came out. And then I didn’t feel that excitement when I was on the sets.”
Interestingly Mimi The actress clarified that her sense of peace is not closely linked to financial security. She quipped, “Coming from an upper-middle-class background, she was lucky to have the support of her family. It’s not financial. I would definitely say I’m privileged. I come from a middle-class family, but it’s not like I ever felt the need to work because I needed to earn money. That wasn’t the case. My parents worked and I never felt the need to. My parents never made me feel like I didn’t have money.”
“Anyone who talks about middle class on camera gets ridiculed,” Nikhil quipped. To which Kriti said, “But I was really… upper middle class, whatever, but I wasn’t someone who was extremely rich and wealthy and all that, but I also wasn’t someone who felt like I had to do this for money.”
Moreover, Kriti maintains a down-to-earth approach by maintaining a joint bank account with her father and keeping a bit of a distance from her financial earnings. “I have a joint account with my father. I have no idea how much money is coming in and going out. Now I’m more like, ‘Okay, tell me how much’ when I want to buy a house. Then suddenly I’m like, ‘Oh, that much?’ I think that’s why I never really… Maybe it wasn’t in my nature,” Kriti concluded.
