PROSSER, Wash. – Berry-owned Driscoll’s announced it will match community donations to support the construction of a new Boys and Girls Club in Prosser.

Through September 30, Driscoll’s will match community donations up to $100,000 to complete construction of a new Prosser Clubhouse for the Boys and Girls Club of Benton and Franklin Counties.

“We have been proud supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Prosser for three years, and during that time we have seen the impact their facilities have on the development and education of young people,” said Sambhav Sambhav, Pacific Northwest Regional Manager for Driscoll’s, Inc.

The Boys and Girls Club in Prosser currently has two locations and has had a waiting list for club members for over a decade, according to a press release about the construction of a new clubhouse.

The new clubhouse is scheduled to open in 2025. The cost is $6 million and will be funded by donations from the community.

According to the Boys and Girls Club, construction began in March on the new 15,000-square-foot clubhouse. This will allow the Prosser club to serve more than 200 youth daily and will include program rooms for technology, arts and homework help, youth rooms for middle and high school students and an outdoor recreation area.

Driscoll hopes his fundraiser will encourage further contributions from the Prosser community and make a significant contribution to raising the remaining funds needed to complete the project.

“We hope the new space will enable the club to expand its service offerings and reach those who need it most,” said Sambhav.
