Rhode Island man held without bail after 1 kilo of cocaine, 128 grams of heroin, 2 guns, a magazine and cash were seized – Fall River Reporter

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – East Providence Police have charged 44-year-old resident Karl Vazquez Ayala with numerous weapons and drug offenses following a multi-jurisdictional investigation. The case involved investigators from the United States Postal Inspection Service, Rhode State Police High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, Pawtucket Police Department and the East Providence Police Department Special Investigations Unit.

United States Postal Inspectors and Task Force officers gathered information regarding the shipment of narcotics through the U.S. Postal System with final destinations in East Providence and Pawtucket. One of the individuals involved in the investigation was Vazquez Ayala of 136 Roma Street in East Providence. Investigators arrested Vazquez Ayala at a location in Pawtucket.

A subsequent search warrant for his East Providence apartment revealed the following.

•1 kilogram of cocaine

• 128 grams of heroin

• 2 semi-automatic pistols

• Large capacity feeders (magazines)

•$3,700 in cash

The East Providence Police Department is charging Vazquez Ayala with the following:

• Manufacture/sale/possession with the intent to manufacture/sell cocaine

•Manufacture/sale/possession with the intent to manufacture/sell heroin

•Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime (2 counts)

•Maintaining a general nuisance/controlled substance

•Large capacity feeders prohibited (gun cam., 2 pieces)

•Arrest warrant based on affidavit

At his arraignment, Vazquez Ayala was held without bail.
