Fancy a taste of the past? How about something old? Then you are ready for Heroes of Might and Magic: Old Erathe official prequel to the groundbreaking turn-based strategy RPG series developed by Unfrozen and published by Ubisoft.

Old Era returns to the world of Enroth and the origins of the legendary saga, inviting both veterans and new players to embark on a new strategic quest on Jadame, a mysterious continent in turmoil never before explored in the main Heroes of Might and Magic series, with its unique factions, biomes, and creatures.”

In addition to the expected single-player campaign, Old Era also brings three multiplayer modes to the table: Classic Mode, in which players can command multiple heroes, build their castle, and explore a randomly generated map; One Hero Mode, a “Blitz-like” mode in which players can only control one hero (and thus only have one life); and Arena Mode, in which players can compete against each other in a PvP arena.

Old Era is planning an Early Access release sometime in the second quarter of next year to celebrate the game series’ 30th anniversary. “The core gameplay mechanics and a significant portion of the content (…) are planned for the full release,” along with the promise of more content, refined features, and improved graphics during the planned year-long Early Access. The game is available to wishlist now, and we’ve got a trailer and image gallery to admire below.
