A Nashville man faces drug and other charges after he was stopped Thursday night for driving a car with only one headlight.
Corporal K. Taylor and Deputy I. Miller of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office were in the area of Hannon Street and Highway 301 in Enfield when they noticed the vehicle driven by a teenager named Karmarri Jeffery around 9 p.m.
Major Anzell M. Harris said officers were conducting a traffic stop.
When Jeffery got out of the vehicle, he ran away but was arrested.
Jeffery had a gun hidden in his pants. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing 223 grams of marijuana.
Jeffery was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell/deliver, possession of a vehicle for a controlled substance, resisting/delaying/obstructing, driving without a license, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed weapon.
He was detained without bail and is scheduled to appear in District Court on August 29.
