Forecast for Friday:
HOUSTON – Friday will be the first day since last Friday where temperatures will be below 100°. It will still be hot in the afternoon, with highs of over 90 degrees and a heat index of 106°. There is also a chance of some showers and thunderstorms in the late morning and afternoon.
Weekend forecast:
By the weekend, our high pressure system will weaken enough for temperatures to drop to over 35 degrees. There is also the possibility of storms.
On the trail of the tropics:
No tropical activity is expected in the Atlantic Ocean for the next seven days. The next named storm will be Francine, but that is unlikely within the next seven days.
10-day forecast:
Next week our weather pattern changes. Tropical humidity moves in, lowering temperatures and increasing the chance of rain. Day 10 is the first day of September.
