COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) – Authorities are searching for a southern Arizona man linked to a death threat to kill former President Donald Trump at the Arizona border the same day.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syrvud of Benson is wanted on several outstanding warrants. The sheriff’s office is also looking for Syrvud in connection with recent death threats against the Republican presidential candidate.
Trump will be in Cochise County on Thursday. He will visit the same stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border in Sierra Vista that his vice presidential running mate, Senator JD Vance, visited three weeks ago.
Syrvud has warrants out of Wisconsin for drunken driving and failure to appear in court. He also has warrants out of Graham County, Arizona for hit and run and failure to register as a sex offender. The sheriff’s office also said he failed to register as a sex offender in Coconino County.
Syrvud is described as a 6′ tall white man with white hair and green eyes.
If anyone has information on Syrvud’s whereabouts, call your local police department or 911.
