One of the long-standing advantages of Wear OS has been the variety of hardware options, and therefore more options at every price point. But with so many Wear OS options missing, it’s a little harder to pick the best deal. However, at $99, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic still offers the best value.
On the list of the best smartwatches for Android right now, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 series is practically a memory. The 3-year-old smartwatch was a solid option, but has since been replaced by the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, which features several significant improvements.
However, with Samsung continuing to provide software updates to the Galaxy Watch 4 series, it’s a great option at the right price.
For the past few months, Walmart has been the go-to place for a cheap Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The retailer has been offering the smartwatch for $99 on and off for a while now, and is currently selling both the 42mm and 46mm sizes at this heavily discounted price. It’s an excellent deal, and it’s worth it when compared to the Galaxy Watch FE, which is also technically available for $99 with trade-in of any other smartwatch.
Updates for the Galaxy Watch 4 series should continue for at least a while, and even the Wear OS 5 update should be available for the aging smartwatch in the near future.
And beyond system updates, the smartwatch continues to benefit from the ever-growing Wear OS ecosystem. Google Maps is continuously rolling out updates and Google has announced several major updates along with the launch of the Pixel Watch 3 that will also be available on the Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic.
