Death metal bands from Quebec revolt just released a video for “The Assembly”, the first hit from their upcoming album obsolescencewill be released on September 13th.
“When we first played this song, we knew we had to play it live in front of people,” says the band. “In fact, it was so important to us that we opened our set with this song. It has a massive, heavy beginning and gradually builds to a fast double bass crescendo before falling back down to a booming conclusion. The lyrics of the song are very dark and have a ritualistic style, although the words themselves actually tell a story of acceptance.”
From the slow, chugging introduction to the fast, thrashy chorus, this is pure, unadulterated Death Metal Movies with lots of dark and thrashy elements to keep people on their toes. The band has been around for 20 years and this song is proof that they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
The song starts with a slow, chugging intro, similar to Cannibal Corpse’s “Scourge of Iron.” As the song progresses, it picks up in speed and intensity, and then crashes down again at the end with the same chugging intro. Insurrection has been making music for the metal community for over 20 years, and it felt right for them to start this album with an ode to the scene they love and have been a part of for most of their lives.
