BeatKing’s girlfriend writes a heartbreaking tribute to the rapper after his death in early August.
BeatKing’s girlfriend speaks out after the rapper’s death
On Wednesday (August 21), BeatKing’s girlfriend Talameshia shared a tribute to BeatKing on Instagram. The Houston rapper and producer died unexpectedly on August 15 at the age of 39, and Talameshia credited BeatKing as her “biggest supporter” and said he was her “best friend” during their time together.
“I don’t know if that makes it true. I don’t know if that helps me or hurts me. I don’t know what version of him everyone has,” Talameshia began. “But I know I get to love, laugh and live with the best version of him. He is my best friend above all else. My biggest supporter. He called me his superstar. We prayed. We played pranks on each other. We were just too big assholes. I questioned life. I doubted my strength. I didn’t eat. And hardly slept. I don’t know how I function. I cry because I know he was ready. He was happy. He was loved. This has to be the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Watching you leave me. I fought and fought, but GOD didn’t let up. I know you are with your mother and finally doing the moonwalk with our favorite, Michael Jackson.”
Talameshia added that she greatly appreciates the support of her fans and that they should send her all the videos they have collected from BeatKing over the years.
“I see everyone’s prayers and words of encouragement,” she continued. “It helps more than you know. Send me any videos and photos you have of us or him. I posted this for you. Because if you know us, you know he would have wanted me to keep going. He would say, ‘Mannn, stop crying and stop the music.’ I love you all… and he loves you all… Until we meet again, Big Daddy.”
BeatKing’s manager Tasha Felder confirmed the tragic news on Instagram and later reports emerged that the Houston rapper died of a pulmonary embolism after passing out during a radio show.
