Now it’s your turn to speak. Every Thursday we open the phone lines for your questions and comments. Today we’re discussing people, power and democracy in action.
Some people say they vote because it’s the least they can do. But what if you want to do more? What other ways do you have to voice your opinion, advocate for or against issues you care about, and influence policy? And what do you do when your actions don’t produce the results you want? Do you keep hope alive or let cynicism take hold?
We’re joined by a panel of community organizers who are taking your calls and helping us figure out how we can make a difference around the world. Also back with us live from the Democratic National Convention in Chicago is Garrison Hayes. He has a unique perspective, having also recently attended the Republican National Convention, and gives us a detailed comparison of the two events.
This episode was produced by Mary Mancini.
