The 9-team Class 1A West Conference looks to be a competitive group of teams again in 2024, and the Greybull Buffs are looking to climb the standings this year. Backed by three returning all-conference players, the Buffs are aiming to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2020. Head coach Jerome Pouska believes this could be the group that could accomplish that feat.

Greybull finished 3-4 last season. They finished 2-4 and were fifth in the conference. The Buffs ranked 11th in both total offense and points per game, allowing 246 yards and 17.1 points per game. Greybull held firm on defense, allowing just 288 yards per game, which was seventh in the 9-man rankings. They gave up 27.7 points per game, which was 10th.

Lucas Bolzer, Wyatt Didrickson and Caiden Sorenson are the all-conference trio returning. They were the top three tacklers for Greybull last year. Didrickson led the way with 54 tackles in 2023. Those three, along with Charles Fink and Coach Pouska, spoke with WyoPreps’ David Settle to preview the 2024 season. It was an optimistic conversation.
