Man let three of his children ride roller coaster unsupervised at amusement park, police said

SANDUSKY, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) – A man has been charged with child endangerment after leaving three of his children unattended while riding a roller coaster at Cedar Point, according to Ohio police.

According to Sandusky police, a woman first found a small child playing alone in the dirt near the Magnum XL-200 roller coaster on August 17. The woman and the girl then walked to the Corkscrew roller coaster and came across a car with another unattended child inside.

The woman waited twenty minutes until the father, identified by police as Anthony Gallina of Kansas, Ohio, returned.

Gallina told police he and his daughter were waiting in line for the Corkscrew roller coaster. While they were gone, he left his 8-year-old daughter to watch his other two daughters, ages 2 and 4.

According to police, Gallina and his daughters arrived in Cedar Point around 1:30 p.m. He allegedly left his children unattended several times while riding three rides.

Gallina was later charged with child endangerment for failing to provide proper supervision and causing significant risk or harm to his children.

Sandusky police said Gallina was released on his own recognizance because he was the only one caring for the children. The incident was also reported to the Seneca County Department of Employment and Family Services.

According to court records, Gallina appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty.
