Speaking to large crowds to bring about change in the country is undoubtedly a huge responsibility, and at the 2024 Democratic National Convention, key figures like Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, former First Lady Michelle Obama, First Lady Jill Biden and others will be putting their best foot forward—literally—by wearing statement shoes.

The convention was not only a platform for powerful speeches, but also a stage where fashion played a major role in conveying power, confidence and style. From the subtlety of polished Oxfords to the boldness of patent leather pumps, each footwear choice added an extra depth to the wearer’s public persona and proved once again that in the world of politics, every detail counts.

Hillary Clinton opted for a pair of elegant pumps in neutral colors, a typical wardrobe staple. The pointed design and subtle heel, which raised her height by about 3 to 4 inches, added a sophisticated touch to her overall look. The subtle shine of the patent leather provided just the right amount of elegance and complemented her monochromatic ensemble perfectly. She paired her shoes with a cream tweed jacket with subtle fringe details on the cuffs and hem, and tailored trousers in a matching shade.
