ALDI opens first store in Waynesboro

The wait is almost over.

The opening of the new ALDI store at 1517 E. Main St. in Waynesboro (Wayne Heights Mall) is scheduled for Thursday, August 29th.

According to the store’s website, a grand opening is planned for 9 a.m., about 30 minutes before the store opens. Construction on the 19,000-square-foot store, located between Rite Aid and Dollar Tree, began last fall. Stores were demolished to make room for the project.

Customers should look for signs in the store to scan the code and enter their information by September 2nd for a chance to win a $500 gift card.

The first 100 customers will receive a Golden Ticket valued at up to $100 from an ALDI employee, as well as a free eco-friendly bag full of ALDI goodies.

ALDI employees also distribute a free ALDI shopping bag (limited quantity) to customers.

As part of the grand opening, ALDI will donate $1,000 to a local Feeding America branch.
