It may feel like Prime Day just ended, but we’re already setting our sights on Prime Day in October 2024. For the past two years, Amazon has hosted a second major sale in the fall, colloquially known as Prime Day in October. Just like the July sale, the fall event typically lasts 48 hours and features Black Friday deals on thousands of products across the Amazon site.
In recent years, Prime Day in October has become the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season—and we expect there to be something similar in 2024. Here’s everything we know about the event so far, plus some Amazon deals worth shopping right away.
Will there be a Prime Day in October 2024?
We’re expecting there to be a Prime Day in October this year, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Last year, Amazon didn’t announce the sale until September, so we may have to wait another month or so before we know for sure if it’s happening.
How often does Amazon hold Prime Days per year?
For the past two years, Amazon has hosted two Prime Day sales per year. The sale was originally an annual summer event, but in 2022, the e-tailer ran a second Prime Day sale in October. This pattern continued in 2023. It’s worth noting that the second sale usually has a different name — last year, it was called Prime Big Deal Days.
When is Prime Day in October 2024?
As mentioned above, Amazon has not yet announced any official dates or details for Prime Day in October 2024. However, based on what we’ve seen in 2023, we expect the sale to begin around October 8th.
How much does an Amazon Prime membership cost in 2024?
An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month. You have the option to pay an annual fee of $139, which brings the price down to about $11.58 per month. If you haven’t had an Amazon Prime membership in the last 12 months, you can also sign up for a free 30-day trial first.
The best Amazon deals right now
Although Prime Day in October is still months away, there are already some good Amazon deals to be had. Here we’ve put together seven offers that our bargain editors recommend buying now.
We’re huge fans of the Hatch Restore 2. It’s our top pick for the best sunrise alarm clock and made our coveted Forbes Vetted Best Product Awards list. The clock is customizable, has an extensive sound library, and has a chic aesthetic to boot. This discount has been available since June, so we may see a bigger drop in the coming months, but it’s still a decent saving if you’ve had your eye on this clock.
While it’s not the latest generation, this Apple iPad is still a solid everyday device for the essentials (like browsing the web, writing, and reading). And even better, this discount is the lowest price we’ve ever seen on our favorite budget iPad.
The Yeti Hopper M20 is a larger version of our best backpack cooler in terms of insulation. It’s durable, spacious, highly insulated, and has comfortable straps that make it a pleasure to carry around. Save $65 on the popular backpack with this discount.
After thorough testing, we’ve named the Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones the best wireless headphones overall. They’re incredibly comfortable, offer some of the best noise cancellation we’ve found, and of course, sound great. This deal was available for most of August, but it’s still the lowest price we’ve seen on these Bose headphones. (Psst, the Sony WH-1000XM5 were a close second and are also on sale.)
If you’re looking to whiten your smile, Crest 3D Whitestrips are a crowd favorite. This pack contains a total of 44 strips (22 for your upper and lower teeth) that can be used once a day. This discount is just a few dollars less than the best price we’ve seen for the kit on Amazon.
We recommend this Coway Airmega air purifier if you need an option for a smaller space. It’s effective (removes up to 99.7% of pollutants from the air), quiet, and offers useful automatic features that help save energy. We’ve seen this model cheaper in the past, but this deal is one of the better discounts we’ve seen so far this year.
Fitbit was one of the first fitness tracker brands. The Inspire 3 is a simple and straightforward piece of tech that’s great for most people – especially Android users who don’t want to go all-in on an Apple Watch. It covers all the basic features, including sleep, fitness and stress tracking, and has a robust battery life of up to 10 days. This discount is $10 off the lowest price we’ve seen for this model.
