SHREVEPORT, Louisiana (KSLA) – SWEPCO posted a power outage notice on the Regions Tower building in downtown Shreveport this week.
In response, the utility company issued the following statement on Wednesday (August 21):
“Throughout our service area, we offer solutions to help our customers manage their energy consumption and pay their bills. Disconnecting customers is always a last resort for us.”
“Unfortunately, this is an account issue that the property owner is aware of. Our customer service team is working with building management to find a workable solution and minimize the impact on the building’s tenants.
“SWEPCO announced the impending outage on Tuesday and will disconnect power to the building on Monday, August 26, to give tenants time to make arrangements.”
In the above statement, SWEPCO spokeswoman Brooke Rinaudo said she could not comment on the details of a private account.
A report from the Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate shows that the Hertz Investment Group property is more than 90 days delinquent on a multi-thousand-dollar utility bill, with multiple promises to pay reportedly made.
