(MENAFN-UkrinForm) Russians are planning to build a new landfill in the temporarily occupied Bilohirsk district of Crimea.
The project is worth over a billion rubles, the National Resistance Center learned, Ukrinform reports.
“A municipal waste dumping site worth over one billion Russian rubles is to be built in the Bilohirsk district of temporarily occupied Crimea. This would be another garbage dump that the occupation authorities cannot deal with, as it would become another environmentally harmful spot on the map of the occupied territories,” the report said.
It is noted that the Bilohirsk district has been particularly polluted since the Russian occupation. The radiation level exceeds the norm, the report says.

“The new landfill will be a disaster for the region’s environment, given that the Russians have built their landfills in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to transport and dispose of waste from Russian territory,” the NRC said.
As reported, against the backdrop of domestic protests demanding the closure of these landfills, the occupiers relocated garbage dumps from Russia to the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.
