Video: Patti LuPone tells shocking stories about Masterclasson Broadway and in London
LuPone and Mia Farrow both return to Broadway in The Roommatesrecently appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Three-time Tony winner Patti LuPone and Golden Globe nominee Mia Farrow, who will appear later this month in Jen Silverman’s The roommate, recently passed by Late Night with Seth Meyers.
LuPone and Farrow talked about their short rehearsal period (it was only three weeks), the beginning of their friendship many years ago thanks to Stephen Sondheim, and some shocking evenings on stage. LuPone told stories of audience disruptions during the Broadway production of Masterclass—she followed Zoe Caldwell as famed opera diva Maria Callas—and the subsequent production in London (the latter of which drew police calls). Directed by Jack O’Brien, the new one-act comedy The roommate Performances begin on August 29th at the Booth Theatre, with the official premiere scheduled for September 12th.
