The University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan has reacted to the death of popular gospel singer, Aduke Ajayi alias Aduke Gold, who passed away on Monday.
On Tuesday morning, the musicians began flooding social media after fellow musician Esther Igbekele posted about them on her Instagram page.
She captioned the photo: “RIP Aduke Gold. A general never falls.”
It has been four months since Anoda gospel artiste Morenikeji Egbin Orun.
A video trended on social media in which a man said: “After several hours of screaming and yelling, UCH finally releases Aduke Bodies. They finally release them.”
Tok-tok pesin for UCH Funmilayo Adetuyibi told BBC that Aduke Gold died in hospital and also spoke out about the video trending on social media.
She says they cannot read the video quickly to write Aduke Gold’s death certificate.
Adetuyibi says Aduke Gold did not die under the doctor’s care and his family is pleading for the singer’s death certificate.
I said that Aduke Gold was sick throughout her stay because of UCH, but when she was diagnosed, she died.
She says the doctor says no, she should make the diagnosis and issue the death certificate. The authors say there may be delays in issuing the death certificate and we make it a delay.
“She had to go through a diagnosis and died during the diagnosis. She didn’t die on the ward or in the operating room. I can’t look too much into her medical records.”
She says they will transfer Aduke Gold to UCH from the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital for Ogun State on August 3.
Adetuyibi added that the treatment would go well until Aduke Gold dies.
